D.A.V. Public School, Ara organizes different co-curricular activities to harness the innate potentials of students. In this sequence, a debate competition was organised to make the students versed in ‘debate’ and to invite suggestions to uproot the present social evil ‘woman harassment’. Several students took part in the debate competition. The topic of the debate was “Is present Indian social structure responsible for harassment of woman?” The students prepared nicely and produced ample material on the topic. In this debate competition Miss Yashaswini Raj (XII-A) was adjudged first while Master Rohit Kumar (X-D) got second position and Miss Harshita (X-D) ranked third. The Principal herself was the chairperson of the programme and while addressing she urged the gathering to make such an environment that women may not be harassed. She advised the girls to strengthen themselves to combat such harassments in any form. The Principal congratulated the students for their superb performances.
D.A.V. Public School, Dhanupura, Ara secured fifth position in India Heritage Quiz Competition- 2013 organised under the aegis of C.B.S.E. Three students of Class-X (Master Rohit Kumar, Master Kundan Ojha and Miss Raunika Anand) represented DAV Public School, Dhanupura, Ara. The quiz competition was held at St. Michael School, Patna in which students of 25 schools participated. Dr. Meera Srivastava, Principal of the school, congratulated the students on their achievement. A painting competition was organised by the District Education Office, Ara (Bhojpur) on the occasion of e| fu"®èk fnol 26-11-2013. The venue of the competition was H.N. Kshatriya +2 School, Ara (Bhojpur). Several schools participated in the programme. DAV Public School, Ara also took part in the painting competition in which Miss Shilpi Singh of Std. X-G of DAV Public School, Ara, daughter of school teacher Mr. Bir Narayan Singh (Fine Art) got 1st Prize in the competition. She was honoured by gifts worth Rs. 1000/- and a certificate of excellence. The District Programme Officer appreciated Miss Shilpi Singh for her excellent performance. Dr. Meera Srivastava, the Principal of DAV Public School, Ara, congratulated Miss Shilpi Singh on her superb achievement. The students of DAV Public School, Ara took part in painting and slogan writing competition organised by prestigious organization Avantika, New Delhi. The students from Std. I to IX were the participants. Mr. B.N. Singh, Art Teacher DAV Public School, Ara guided the students for painting competition. The students made beautiful paintings and wrote meaningful and emphatic slogans. Several students were acknowledged for Gold medal, Silver medal and Bronze medal. Due to active participation based on excellent performances of the students, the Principal of the school Dr. Meera Srivastava also has been adjudged for the prize meant as a mark of appreciation. The school organised a Project/Model Exhibition on 14-12-2013. The exhibition was an integral part of 3rd Formative Assessment 2013. The aim of the exhibition was to imbibe into students the importance of projects and models in modern teaching – learning process. The students prepared projects and models related to different subjects. The projects and models were informative and they explained the concerned concepts elegantly. The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Rajesh Rajmani Principal, B.D. Public School, Ara. The chief guest was highly impressed by some projects and models and emphasized the need to improve it further. Prof. S.P. Srivastava, University Professor of Zoology, Maharaja College Ara was also present at the occasion. After kind perusal of the projects and models, he applauded the students for preparing project and models of high standards. The judges examined the projects and models carefully from different angles. Finally, the results were declared and the students got 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prize in different discipline. The Principal of the school, Dr. Meera Srivastava congratulated the students for their efforts and motivated them to come up with more innovative ideas to enhance creative and scientific aptitude.
